Felipe Fraga conquered, on Saturday (22), pole position for this Brazilian Stock Car round in Curvelo. The Cimed Racing driver, the current champion of the series, defeated Daniel Serra to set the sixth pole position.
In Q1, some strong names were in the way, like Rubens Barrichello, Valdeno Brito, Marcos Gomes and Antonio Pizzonia - the drivers of group B were harmed by the spin of Diego Nunes, who generated a red flag. The fastest was Julio Campos, followed by Felipe Fraga, who already showed that he would come strong in the fight for the first positions.
The Q2, quite disputed, saw Fraga be the fastest, with Daniel Serra, Ricardo Mauricio, Ricardo Zonta, Campos and Thiago Camilo the names that would dispute for the pole position. Max Wilson was one of the favorites who did not pass the decisive stage of the classification.
Already in Q3, Fraga - who was the last to enter the track, since he had been the fastest in Q2 - gave no chance to opponents, registering 1min22s244 and surpassing Serra by 0s071. Mauricio was third, Zonta the fourth, Camilo the fifth and Campos completed the top-6. Cacá Bueno departs in ninth and Barrichello will start in 19th place.
